Venetia Tunnel tent test winner KCK

The Venetia from Hyper Camp is our award winner. The tent is cheap, nicely finished, very solid and gives sufficient space.

Build up:
The Venetia is a 2–3 person tent with two sleep chambers. The style similar to the Base camp tents and Bardani. The designs is quite general but clear enough for anyone who snaps a dome or tunnel tents set up. In Venetia start with the outer tent, with four colour-coded fibreglass poles bent quickly. The two inside bars prick your first peg in the ground, and with them a "bat-toutje system" to the flysheet confirms. The advantage of this system in place (first outside, then inside) is that the tent inner tent always stays dry. The tent can be effortlessly set up and tight.

The tent is spacious enough for a child. They have a cockpit is high enough to sit upright. The doors roll on down. The space inside the tent is large enough to play. On either side of the space is a door with a window of film and insect netting. These windows are essential, because the dark blue cloth, the Venetia is a dark tent. This also has advantages, because you will not wake up immediately from the first sunbeams. One of the two doors can be supplied with sticks and used as a canopy. The loose ground sheet for the space has the wrong shape and is unusable.

Two opposite ventilation flaps ensure a continuous airflow just below the roof. Also near the ground is room for fresh air. The outside doors are mesh windows. The inner tents have double doors and mesh fabric and a strip of mesh for extra ventilation.

Material and finish:
The Venetia is the cheapest tent in our test. For that money you buy a tent that is nicely finished. The roof fabric is polyester / cotton. This material is lighter than 100% cotton, but also breathes a little less. All eighteenth points are reinforced. The inner tent is polyester / cotton, Oxford sails. The guy lines are plastic tensions. Standard is equipped with the proper steel tent pegs, the pegs for the tent are weak.

Rain and wind:
Wind 9-10, pouring rain ... where two other tents have been blown away and test another great difficulty to stay upright, is almost unmoved by the Venetia. These excellent wind resistances thanks to its low tunnel tent the shape and the good pegs. Inside is no sign of leakage anywhere. However, the wind wrenched at the outer corners of the tent the slack out of the ground pins.
